1. Agriculture
Cultivation: Annual rice cultivation area reaches over 329,000 hectares with the output of about 1.9 million tons. Total area of short term industrial crops, annual crops and other crops is 122,850 hectares with the output of about 3.25 million tons; perennial crops (coconut trees, fruit trees) 221,000 hectares with the output of over 3.5 million tons.
Livestock: Pig, cow and poultry herds are about 900,000, 470,000 and 24.50 million respectively, total meat output is over 350,000 tons, egg output is 460 million.
Aquaculture: Total aquaculture area reaches about 111,500 hectares with the total output of about 984,000 tons (farming output is 677,000 tons, exploitation output is 307,000 tons).

2. Forestry
The total forest area in the province is 14,474.01 hectares, mainly mangrove forests concentrated in coastal wards and communes. Furthermore, the coconut area reaches 119,270 hectares (equivalent to about 22 million coconut trees), ranking the 1st in the region and country.
3. Economic zones, industrial parks, and industrial clusters
* Economic Zone (EZ): Dinh An Economic Zone is located in the Southeast of Vinh Long Province, bordering the sea and Hau River, belonging to Duyen Hai Ward, Long Thanh Commune, Dong Hai Commune, Long Vinh Commune and part of Truong Long Hoa Ward, Dai An Commune, Ham Giang Commune, Ngu Lac Commune, and Don Chau Commune with the total planning area of 39,020 hectares, is one of 8 key coastal Economic Zones and 1 of 20 coastal Economic Zones of the country, including:
- Non-tariff zone: 501 hectares;
- Bonded warehouse: 100.8 hectares;
- Industrial parks and warehouses (4 industrial parks and 2 reserve industrial parks): 5,041 hectares;
- Renewable Energy Export Center area: 1,900 hectares;- Dinh An general port area: 125 hectares.
* Industrial parks: Under the provincial planning, there are currently 17 IPs (new and expanded) that meet the conditions for establishment by 2030, with the total area of about 3,442 hectares, of which 5 IPs have come into operation with the area of about 720.13 hectares; 1 IP is under basic construction with the area of 231.78 hectares (expected to be completed by the end of 2025), 4 IPs have been established (being implementing site clearance) with an area of 1,121 hectares, 7 IPs (new and expanded) are in the provincial planning with the area of roughly 1,369 hectares.
* Industrial clusters (IPs): 31 IPs, total area of approximately 1,655.86 hectares, of which:
- 4 IPs having come into operation with the area of approximately 188.98 hectares (planned area of 230.98 hectares).
- 3 industrial parks being under construction with the area of approximately 90.82 ha.- 24 industrial parks having been planned and calling for investment with the area of approximately 1,334.06 ha.
4. Trade and services
Vinh Long Province has distribution and retail systems including 401 markets, 6 shopping centers, 16 supermarkets and convenience store systems such as Bach hoa xanh, Vinmart, etc. Currently, the province has 965 products certified by OCOP (778 products of 3 stars, 175 products of 4 stars, 12 products of 5 stars) and 252 products with Typical Rural Industry certification, of which 172 products are at the provincial level, 62 products at the regional level, 18 products at the national level.
5. Labor costs
Minimum wage: Regional minimum wage has been applied in enterprises since July 1, 2024 (Decree 74/2024/ND-CP regulating the minimum wage for employees working under labor contracts takes effect from July 1, 2024; Decree No. 128/2025/ND-CP of the Government stipulating the decentralization and devolution of State management in the field of internal affairs takes effect from July 1, 2025).
6. Marine economy
Marine economy: Vinh Long Province owns about 130 km of coastline, opening up opportunities for strong development of marine economic sectors such as aquaculture, seafood exploitation, marine tourism and renewable energy, especially wind power. The development of seafood processing and renewable energy will create attractive investment opportunities.
7. Logistics and seaports
Logistics and seaports: With its central location in the Mekong Delta, Vinh Long Province may become an significant logistics center, connecting regional provinces and cities. The road and waterway traffic system is developed synchronously, connecting with national highways, My Thuan bridge, Can Tho Bridge and Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway, and My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway, facilitating trade and logistics services, especially seaport and transportation industry.

8. Wind power and renewable energy
Wind power and renewable energy: The province has great potential to develop wind power along the coast, contributing to the national renewable energy development strategy and supporting the increase of clean and sustainable energy supply.
9. Developing agricultural processing industry and high-tech agriculture
Developing agricultural processing industry and high-tech agriculture: Vinh Long Province is one of the provinces having great potential in agricultural production, especially fruit trees and aquatic products. The agricultural and aquatic product processing industries can create high added value and serve the export. High-tech agriculture is also a strongly developing sector with the transition from traditional agricultural production to the application of modern technology to improve productivity and product quality.
10. Eco-tourism and culture
Eco-tourism and culture: The province has many potentials and advantages to develop tourism such as Historical and cultural relics associated with heroic revolutionary traditions, including Dong Khoi relic, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Tomb relic and memorial site; Memorial site of Chairman of Council of Ministers Pham Hung, memorial site of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, memorial site of female general Nguyen Thi Dinh, memorial site of female hero Nguyen Thi Ut (Ut Tich), memorial site of Professor-Academician Tran Dai Nghia, etc. and many attractive tourist destinations including contemporary heritage Mang Thit, Vinh Sang, Somofarm Cuu Long, Cocohome, Con Phung, Lan Vuong, Hai Van Farm - Vam Ho Bird Sanctuary, Ao Ba Om, Con Chim, Ba Dong Beach, Con Bung Beach, Ba Tri Beach, etc. Rich local cuisine and specialties including My Long rice paper, Son Doc rice paper, Cu Lao May rice paper, Tra Cuon sticky rice cake, vermicelli soup, Ben Tre coconut candy, Tam Binh orange, green coconut, green-skinned grapefruit, My Hoa Nam Roi pomelo, Cai Mon durian, Cau Ke wax coconut, etc. Unique art forms including Hat Boi; Southern amateur music, Sac Bua singing in Phu Le, Van Tien poetry, Khmer dances, etc. With the existing strengths of tourism resources, Vinh Long Province is focusing on actively developing eco-tourism, river tourism, cultural tourism, sea tourism, community tourism, agricultural tourism, etc.

11. Developed transport infrastructure
Developed transport infrastructure: the investment projects in transport infrastructure such as roads, seaports, and expressways being implemented will help Vinh Long Province not only connect well with the Mekong Delta provinces but also with major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City. Such complete transport system will support the development of trade, services and tourism.
12. Quality human resources
Quality human resources: With the focus on education and training, Vinh Long is developing high-quality human resources to serve the developing industries and services in the future. Training human resources in keeping with the needs of labor market will contribute positively to the economic development of province.
13. Investment incentive policies
Investment incentive policies: Vinh Long provincial government is focusing on creating a favorable investment environment through tax incentives, land and administrative procedure support for investors. Prioritized development will be given to the sectors such as renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, seafood processing and tourism Vinh Long Province aims to become a processing, trade, logistics, renewable energy and tourism center in the Mekong Delta. Accordingly, the province is focusing on attracting and calling for investment in key sectors including:
* Developing infrastructure of industrial zones and clusters: According to the approved planning, the province has 01 Dinh An Economic Zone with an area of 39,020 hectares and 22 industrial parks (new and expanded), of which 17 industrial parks (new and expanded) are eligible for establishment by 2030 with a total area of about 3,442 hectares.
Focus on implementing investment procedures for the projects in An Dinh Industrial Park (200 ha), Hoa Phu Industrial Park Phase 3 (157 ha), Giao Hoa Industrial Park (249 ha), Phuoc Long Industrial Park (182 ha), An Nhon Industrial Park (182 ha), Bao Thanh Industrial Park (153 ha), Giao Long III Industrial Park (50.8 ha), Cau Quan Industrial Park (120 ha).
The province is also focusing on developing specialized industrial clusters, prioritizing agricultural and aquatic product processing, mechanical engineering, supporting industry, electricity and electronics. Besides, it has planned and developed 31 industrial clusters with the total area of nearly 1,655.86 ha, of which:- 4 industrial clusters having been put into operation with the area of nearly 188.98 ha (planned area of 230.98 ha).
- 3 industrial parks being under construction with the area of nearly 90.82 ha.
- 24 industrial parks having been planned and being calling for investment with the area of nearly 1,334.06 ha.
* Renewable energy development:
Power Plan VIII and adjusted Power Plan VIII to 2030, including 45 projects with the total capacity of over 3,855 MW are implemented:
- Power source projects is in the period of investor selection, including 08 projects with the total capacity of 365 MW
- In addition, there are 21 projects with the total capacity of 2,252 MW that have been approved to 2030, but have not yet implemented investor selection, of which there are 18 wind power projects with the total capacity of 2,142 MW, 2 concentrated solar power projects with the capacity of 100 MW and 1 biomass power plant with the capacity of 10 MW.

In addition, the province is giving its attention to investing in medical equipment at the grassroots level and developing healthcare associated with tourism. Based on its advantage of convenient waterway and road traffic, the province can connect tours and routes with key markets in the region and Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, the province is also calling for investment in many tourism projects to effectively exploit potential, promote the strengths of sightseeing and relaxation in combination with healthcare and rehabilitation.
